Button Bracelet

The Finished Project...
 The Inspiration...
Found here on Etsy via Pinterest
Supplies....
 Buttons (four holes)
String (make sure it will fit into the button holes)
Scissors

I got my buttons at AC Moore and I think they are really cute.
For each bracelet you're going to need to cut two pieces of string. Make sure each string will wrap around your wrist at least twice. This will make sure that it will go around your wrist and you'll be able to tie it.
First you're going to put one end of the string into one hole of the button...
Take one end of the same sting and put it through an adjacent hole
 Pull out your loop
And pull the ends through the loop

Repeat on the other side
I think these are so cute and they're really easy to make. I would totally recommend making one or ten.
And if you compare mine to the original you might see that they look a little different. That is because my loop was on the front of the button and hers is on the back. So if like hers just make the first loop on the back instead of the front.
Make it your own!!!

Washable Markers

Okay so today I just wanted to show you guys a technique that I tried... It didn't turn out how I wanted it to but I thought I;d share my results anyway.

So my final results...

What I attempted to do...

So if you guys are not aware. When You spray washable markers with water they bleed. So I thought it would really cool to write out a whole lots of cool quotes, spray them with a mister, and they become a little less crisp.

Here are my quotes...
And while I was spraying them with water...
Now if I had just let it dry like that instead of spraying on more water to try to get it more unnoticeable, I think it would've turned out way better. Instead the colors blended together to get brown which is very unsightly.

To try to make it at least somewhat decent I wrote a quote on tip.
If you ever want to try something like this I would say that less is more on the water, and maybe pick colors that when mixed together make a pretty color and not brown, unless you want brown.

I know this was not really a tutorial but more of a technique/learn from my mistakes. But if you liked it comment down below and I will try to post more of them.

Oh and I have since decided to open my Pinterest to the public, and I think it would be really cool if you followed me. I post more than just crafts but you can definitely pick and choose your boards.
My username is glueandyou so if you search that my name will be Anna.
So go follow me and you may get a sneek peek and some future projects that I'm planning on doing, and some inspiration. Also feel free to send me pictures of projects you've done because I would love to see those.

Quote Journal

I've had my quote journal for a while now, and I'd thought I'd share this idea with you and some of the specifics about my journal.

I don't know where I got this idea but I guess I got it somewhere. And for all of those who don't know or don't understand what a quote journal is, it's basically a notebook where you write down all of your favorite quotes.

So yes, this is what mine looks like...
This is an old notebook that I had. I ripped out all of the few pages that I had used, covered it in neon green duct tape because I didn't enjoy what the cover looked like.
As you can see I used a Sharpie to write quotes, and I've started to cover it with stickers.

This is just some of the ideas you could use to decorate this notebook. If you YouTube search notebook diys there are some really cool diys that you can use.

And as for what the inside of mine looks like...
And you can't tell from this picture but out of all the quotes that I write down in there I highlight my absolute favorite ones.

Now I know this is only an idea post but I hoped you enjoyed. I'd highly recommend making a quote journal making sure you Make it Your Own.

And I have decided that I am now going to post Sundays and Thursdays because honestly Wednesdays are the busiest day of the week for me. So to have better post so I'm not rushing I am now going to be putting up my posts on  Thursdays and not Wednesdays. I am still posting on Sundays though.

Tightrope Girl

Before I start I just want to say that no one updated me about Pinterest so I'll just keep it as my personal account for now.

And as for a reminder for those of you who don't know I post on Wednesdays and Sundays. Not promptly though so if you along wanted to check the blog when you knew there'd be a new post. Monday and Thursday would be safe bets. Sometimes I post really late on those days.

The Finished Project...

The Inspiration...
http://www.saatchiart.com/show/spring-fever via Pinterest
I feel that I was really close with recreating this but as for a job well done not so much...

What you'll need:
A work space
Something to complete the project on
Watercolors (I used my homemade one)
A black marker
A silhouette of a girl/person
A paintbrush
Mod podge
A cup of water

The first step is to create the clouds. I did multiple things to try to create this and I struggled with so comment down if you know a better way to do this. But it's all about experiments and just being creative.

So to start off I wanted to get rid of the lines so I tried to watercolor the page white. This didn't quite work. The white only shows up in combination with other colors. When that didn't work I added some light blue in clouds shapes. To make the outlines of the clouds darker.
I tried to make some subtle outlines with some darker shades but they didn't show up enough. A black watercolor would've worked but I didn't have one so I drew some cloud shapes with a washable marker. When you then wet this the color will spread and blend out.
On top of this I added some white in the middle of the clouds and the blue on the outside. I liked how it turned out pretty well. I then drew some power lines like in the inspiration.
And this is my girl silhouette...
http://beafunmum.com/2009/09/its-a-girl-thing/

I mod podged the girl on and tried to put it over the watercolor but all that did was take off the watercolor. So i wouldn't reccomend that if you are using the new watercolors.
Make sure to try it and maybe send me a link of this is if you try it out. And comment, it would mean the world to me.
Make sure to make this your own.

Room Decor Number 1

Okay so recently my brother and I switched rooms and we did some room rearanaging. I wanted to share this with you guys and in addition share with you guys some room diys and some room diy ideas.  There will be more of these because my room is not fully done and some of the things I show you will be not completely done.

So first of all the before pictures...

My Old Room...

My Brother's Old Room...

And What We Used As Our Spare Room/Junk Room

This is a Panorama

And Now The After Pictures. I apologize for the messiness beforehand and that I didn't take any in-between pictures.

What Used to be my Room and is Now My Brother's...

Yes that is my brother in the chair.

What Used to be My Brother's and is Now Mine...

And What Was the Spare Room and is now Still the Spare Room...

Now for some room diys!!!!!!!!!

The first is this makeup brush holder/pencil holder.
This is really easy. Take a tin can like the ones that have green beans, clean it out, and paint it. You can also cover it in pretty paper.
Then you fill it with beans or rice or those fancy beads that you can get at craft stores or The Dollar Tree. I used beans.
This is what makes the brushes/pencils/pens stay up straight.
And there you have it.

Next is this really cool poster which you may not be able to tell but is covered with tons of tiny dog pictures.
This is a really simple idea but can take some time.
For the pictures i had an old calendar which had a dog picture for everyday. I picked out the ones I liked, cut them out and glued them down to the back of an old poster I had. You can then mod podge over it but I didn't.
If you didn't have an old calendar then you could print off pictures from the internet or have them developed and of course you don't have to use dogs or any animal. I really enjoy this and all the cute doggies on my wall.

I don't know if you guys remember my post about the Crane Mobile  but this is what it looks like in my new room if any of you guys were interested...

Now the next couple of things are just halfway done ideas...

Basically my idea for this is to surround my whole mirror with dum dum wrappers and then create a whole sun beam effect. I will keep you updated on this.
You of course need a whole bunch of wrappers and you don't have to use dum dum wrappers.

In this picture of my room I don't know if you guys noticed the string hanging up on the top of my wall.
This is a whole bunch of tied together string. I got this idea from those picture hanging things some people so in their rooms with the clothes pins. I don't know if I'll do that with this yet or not but used yarn is a great idea instead of white string.

And that's it. Look for more next week and I'll wait until Wednesday for the notice about Pinterest.
I hoped you guys enjoyed this.
