Wall Hanging Decorations

Today I though I would come to you with an interesting room diy. It's really quite simple but here are some things I learned along the way.

You can basically so it with amy shape in any material. You might want to be sure that the shape wouldn't collapse when being hung though. I uses two different materials and shapes
The first was some foam snowflakes and snowmen from AC Moore. A pack of thirty was $5 I believe.

The second shape was some elephants that I cut out from scrapbook paper.

I used paper from two different scrapbooks that I also got at AC Moore. (That's my favorite craft store if you couldn't tell.)

Before you tape your shapes you may want to lay out a pattern if you care about that type of thing. I tried to balance the amount of stripes and square based patterns next to each other along with colors.

Once you have your shapes you basically going to want to tape them onto a string, any kind of string. I guess you could glue too, whatever suits your fancy. I personally used masking tape. If the shape is asymmetrical like my elephants were you're going to have to mess with where the string goes in order for the shape to hang straight, and not slanted. I learned this the hard way. If your shape is symmetrical it's a lot easier.
Try to keep an equal distance between the shapes that is consistent with all your strands. It doesn't have to be perfect.

Once you have your shapes all taped it's time to hang. Remember to check the length of the strand before cutting the string off. You could tape it like I did or hang it on a hook or whatever suits your fancy (that's twice now).

If your strands keep falling it's helpful to add some tape down the strand. This helps it stay up. Trust me I learned this the hard way.

I hoped you guys enjoyed this. I had fun making this.
